STORY

Bre Hanks and I connected online a few years ago and I’ve been a fan of her art ever since. Bre shares that a few years ago she was going through something deeply difficult and found herself questioning everything she once believed. So … she put in the spiritual work! Bre shares: “It was the first time I really gained a relationship with God. Everything I was going through felt so dark at times; I had no choice but to rely on my God. He promised me that He would lead me through it — and He did it beautifully.

Through that process, I was led to many different scriptures and many different promptings of what I needed to change or certain things I should do to reach my goals and to pull me out of my grief. After an especially intense wave of grief, followed by prayer, I was strongly led to Philippians 4:9, which reads: ‘Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, DO: and the God of peace shall be with you.’

I immediately had to have a visual reminder of the peace that came over me after reading and praying. I wanted it to be something beautiful but have a powerful and almost hidden meaning behind it. And so, this design was born. If you notice the design of the two shapes and turn it sideways, you’ll see that they actually form the word ‘DO’. A constant reminder that if you do what God has asked you, put your trust and faith in Him FULLY, His peace shall be with you always.”
